Do I have to use sight, sound and scent settings together?

No, they don’t have to operate simultaneously. You can fully customize the device and use any or all of the settings to find the best fit for you.

How dependent will I become on my Aromarest?

Aromarest is ideal for helping you create a sleep routine, and we recommend using it nightly. This will help your body establish circadian rhythms so you can sleep better, night after night. If you are traveling, you can use the app for sound and will be able to rely on your body’s natural circadian rhythms to help you stay in sync.

Can I buy replacement oils from Aromarest?

We supplied SLEEP and WAKE oils to get you started, but we encourage you to use your own oils as you continue to experiment with your Aromarest. We chose a lavender essential oil to help you sleep and a citrus oil blend to help you wake gently. As you buy replacements, keep in mind that a 5 mL (milliliter) bottle of oil contains about 100 drops. Therefore, a standard size vial of 15 mL is suitable for 50 or more uses.

Can Aromarest cure insomnia?

The inability to fall asleep and stay asleep is a chronic problem in the developed world due to many things, including stress, the proliferation of electronic light and other personal and environmental factors. We believe in helping people everywhere sleep better, and we created the Aromarest to help you establish routines and create an environment in your home that’s ideal for sleep. Many users have reported sleeping better night after night. However, we are all unique. If you continue to have problems sleeping after experimenting with Aromarest settings and your choice of therapeutic essential oils, we encourage you to talk with a health professional.

How do ultrasonic diffusers work?

Aromarest uses ultrasonic diffuser technology. The system, hidden carefully in the base of the lamp, creates ultrasonic vibrations (sound waves that vibrate at a frequency higher than human ears can detect)). These waves agitate the water and separate the water particles. Those negatively charged particles become lighter than air, causing a light mist. When you add essential oils to the WAKE and SLEEP diffuser bays, the oil's particles are carried into the air along with the particles of water.

How long does the diffuser run?

The Aromarest diffuser is designed for use in the first and last 30 minutes of your day. Replace the water daily using the included measuring cup and your choice of therapeutic oils.

What types of essential oils should I use, and how much?

We recommend using 4-5 drops in each diffuser bay when you fill it with water, but we encourage you to experiment to find the concentration that’s right for you. You can also choose different mist output settings using the Aromarest app to customize your experience.

What type of water should I use?

Aromarest works with tap water, filtered water or distilled water. However, some types of water may cause mineral buildup. Sticking to distilled order will keep your unit clean and fresh the longest.

How can I clean my Aromarest?

When you use distilled water and 100 percent pure essential oils, cleaning needs will be minimal. If you experience mineral buildup or allow water to stagnate in the unit, more cleaning may be necessary. You can safely rinse the bays with water, taking care not to get the electronics inside the base wet. You can also use a soft cloth dampened with vinegar to wipe out the unit and remove buildup or run the unit with a few drops of vinegar to clean the internal workings.

Can I use citrus oils with my diffuser?

Yes! In fact, we recommend using citrus oils in the WAKE bay to ease you into morning. The plastics used in the Aromarest are specially formulated for use with your choice of therapeutic essential oils.

Can I use fragrance oils in my Aromarest?

We have found that it’s best to use 100% pure essential oils, because some fragrance oils can damage the internal workings of the diffuser.

Will the Wake light help me wake up in the mornings?

Yes, it will. Aromarest uses light therapy to simulate a sunrise so you can wake up gently and naturally, like nature intended.

How does the Wake light work?

The million color LEDs built into the Aromarest light up gradually, over up to 30 minutes before your wake time. This gentle waking can elevate cortisol levels to help you wake, naturally. Combined with your choice of scent and sounds, you will wake on time and wake well. With daily use, your body will establish a sleeping and waking routine that optimizes your health and your time spent between the sheets. Can I customize the light colors on my Aromarest?

Yes! You can use the app to create up to 1 million different color combinations in any shade and hue, or you can select the following presettings:

• Insomnia buster, which provides a customizable pulsing of red light to help you slow your breathing and find sleep easily
• Sunrise, which provides lighting on the bright, blue spectrum to help you ease into waking and produce energizing cortisol.
• Sunset, which uses only gently red hues that mimic the sunset to allow for the production of the sleep hormone melatonin.
• Candle, which uses low, flickering yellow lights to simulate the soft glow of candlelight.
• Bright White, which uses the full brightness of the LEDs for pure light.

Do I have to use music or sounds I have downloaded on my phone?

The app comes preloaded with a variety of sounds (such as ocean waves or birds chirping) to help you fall asleep, stay asleep and wake refreshed. You can also use sounds downloaded to your phone for any stage of sleep. On Apple devices, opt for anything from your Apple Music library. An Android devices, opt for anything from your Music folder.

Is there an option to turn of all the sound?

Yes. With aromarest, you can fully customize any setting, including sound.
